JobCroissant's Take
Jaho Coffee’s Baker/Pastry Chef role in Salem presents a solid opportunity for an experienced, hands-on baker who values working with artisanal techniques across laminated doughs, brioche, tarts, and traditional breads. The listing is clear about the high-volume, fast-paced environment and physical demands, so candidates should be realistic about the need for stamina, consistency, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment and processes.
Advantages are tangible: a state-of-the-art bakery setting, a team-focused culture with clear growth pathways, and comprehensive benefits including health and dental insurance and a 401(k), plus employee coffee perks that suit those passionate about both pastry and coffee. The stated hourly pay of $16 - $18/hour is transparent; while competitive depending on local market and experience, candidates should weigh it against living costs in the area. Overall, this could be a very good fit for a dedicated baker seeking to refine craft, progress within a regional company, and work in a supportive, quality-driven bakery.
